President’s Message

Welcome to Our New Website

Along with the new year is… a new website!  Welcome to our completely revamped, up to date webpage that should be easy to navigate.  Our Website Committee put in countless hours so all our current and future members can easily access any information they need.  As of January 1, 2018, Stephanie Lindsay has replaced me as the Internet Technology Director and I am able to focus on serving as President of Northern California Arts, Inc.  I couldn’t be more thrilled!  Be sure to give Stephanie and our website committee a HUGE round of applause for all their hard work!  As the geekiest member of our team (I mean that in the most loving way), Stephanie has worked closely with me for countless hours to ensure our shiny new website was ready to launch by the new year.  Thank you, Stephanie!!!

I would also like to personally thank all of our board members for sending me a dreadfully long list of requested information over and around the holidays to help get this up on time!  THANK YOU for all of your much needed help!  I appreciate all the hard work!

Aspiring Artists Show

This is a show I hold near and dear to my heart, as it was my first personal experience with entering a show, and first exposure to Northern California Arts, Inc. and Sacramento Fine Arts Center.  I often reflect on the beginning as I move forward in my artistic journey.  With the show fast approaching, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to share my personal experience with other aspiring artists.

Merely a year ago, I was so nervous about entering an art piece to share with the world (and to have it judged)!  I didn’t know the first thing about filling out the necessary forms, meeting the necessary requirements or how to attach the proper backing so my art could be hung!  When I arrived, I was immediately greeting by so many friendly and helpful faces; my anxieties completely disappeared and were replaced with excitement!  After all the entry business was done, I eagerly waited for the show to open.  I found my piece hanging IN A GALLERY next to many other talented artists!  Kristen Truesdale’s piece was hanging right next to mine and I fell in love with it!  In fact, I loved it so much, I sought her out at the artists’ reception and discovered she loved MY piece, too!  We made an agreement: if neither of our pieces sold, we would trade our art when it was time for the show to come down.  See photo below!
