Diana Licon

Diana Licon, NCA Past President for 2018
Diana’s passion for art started at an early age under the direction of her fine artist father. Her admiration of nature began at the family owned, country almond ranch in Paso Robles, California, where her family lived for the majority of her maturing years. She graduated from Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo as an Art Major and furthered her studies in foreign lands. She was active in painting, drawing, and mixed media until her husband suffered a critical injury in 1981 which stopped her from pursuing her dreams. She started to become inspired by a new spiritual energy however, and in 2014 began to paint again with a passion.
Diana has shown her current work at a number of northern California regional art centers and galleries. She has often won awards with three Best of Show Ribbons in 2016-2017. She was president of Northern California Arts in 2017 and is the current Past-President on the board of directors. She has achieved the senior signature artist standing.
Diana’s art is figurative realism. She often paints with acrylic as under layer and oil as a finish layer over the acrylic. Her paintings are thus being completed twice. She enjoys both mediums and their benefits.
Diana’s spiritually impacts her art, and she wishes to translate this to every canvas by telling a story with color. Every stroke is a manifestation of her deeply rooted spirituality and emotion in the beauty that surrounds her life. For more information visit her website: DLicon130@yahoo.com
