My training in fiber arts began in childhood.  Of course, in the 1950s it was called “homemaking skills”, not fiber arts!  The years since have been spent honing my needlework skills, especially knitting.  When I realized that I had begun creating my own designs, I began to think of my output as art.  My two major knitwork categories are recreating historical knitted items, and making small knitted mouse characters in historical costumes which I sell.

An art form I am still working to master is binding miniature books.   The Miniature Book Society defines “miniature” as less than 3” in any dimension.   I enjoy the challenge of creating an aesthetically pleasing binding while working in such tiny scale.
